This episode of Grow With Us features Darbee Rich, teacher at the DeKalb Independent School District and Team Lead for the Lisa’s House consulting group of the Campus Tulsa Impact Academy. Darbee and Evan discuss Darbee’s previous experience as an Impact Academy intern and this summer’s opportunity to lead a student group through the same experience she had last summer. Darbee led the team of students who are working on a consulting project with Lisa’s House. Lisa’s House is a transitional housing model aimed to provide stability, employment resources, and mentorships to at-risk of homelessness folks from ages 22-34. In this episode, Darbee and Evan discuss skill-building in internships, working with vulnerable and stigmatized populations of folks in our cities, and the importance of organizing the art community in a thriving art scene.
