What led you to move to the U.S.?
I’ve always aspired to pursue higher education at a prestigious business school in the United States. The U.S. is known for its world-class education system, and earning a degree from a reputable institution here was a significant goal for me. Beyond academics, I was drawn to the thriving tech industry, where innovation and career growth opportunities are unparalleled. Moving to the U.S. allowed me to gain a top-tier education while positioning myself for success in a leading technology company, where I could contribute my skills and continue growing professionally.
How did you learn about the Visa Network program?
I first learned about the inTulsa Visa Network through my colleagues and manager, who highly recommended it. However, my initial arrival was in a college town (Stillwater), which provided a more familiar and manageable environment, allowing me to adjust more quickly. The transition was made even smoother thanks to the support of my friends and colleagues, who helped me navigate both professional and personal aspects of settling in. What is your current role, and what does it entail?
I currently work as a Data Engineer at CommunityCare, where I’m responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support the company’s data infrastructure. I work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data, ensuring it is collected, processed, and stored efficiently. My responsibilities include developing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
I also collaborate with data analysts and software developers to make data accessible and actionable for business insights. Additionally, I use cloud platforms such as Azure to manage and streamline data workflows. My role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
What I enjoy most about my role as a Data Engineer is the problem-solving aspect. I’m passionate about analyzing complex data and developing innovative solutions that address real business needs. Whether it’s optimizing data pipelines for better performance or designing scalable data models, I find it rewarding to create solutions that enhance business efficiency and decision-making.
I also enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding their data requirements, and translating them into technical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. The dynamic nature of data engineering, where each project presents a new challenge, keeps me motivated and engaged.

Tulsa offers a unique balance of city life and affordability, which makes it an ideal place to live and work. The cost of living is significantly lower than in larger tech hubs, allowing me to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle while focusing on my career growth. What’s particularly exciting is Tulsa’s growing tech community. There’s a strong sense of collaboration and innovation, with regular networking events, tech meetups, and professional groups that make it easy to connect with like-minded professionals. The city also has a vibrant cultural scene, including art galleries, live music venues, and diverse dining options, providing a well-rounded lifestyle that combines professional opportunities with personal enjoyment.

I’ve also been impressed by the sense of community—people are genuinely welcoming and eager to connect, which made settling in much easier. Additionally, Tulsa’s network of green spaces (such as the Gathering Place and Turkey Mountain) and outdoor activities has been a bonus. From scenic parks to walking trails, there are plenty of opportunities to unwind and enjoy nature, which adds to the city’s overall quality of life.
