Tim joined ChowNow as a Sales Development Representative in March 2021. As a Tulsa native, he’s seen the city grow over the past few years and is excited for what the future holds for his hometown. Working with Talent inTulsa, he was able to find a new role that spoke to his love and background in sales while tapping into his desire to make lasting impacts in his community.
What was it like working with Talent inTulsa to find your next career move?
Talent inTulsa was terrific. I worked with Princess, who took the time to learn about my experience and interests before presenting me to ChowNow. I think what I appreciated most was that she stayed in constant communication with me throughout the process. Sometimes interviewing and searching for jobs can be a long, stressful process, but it was so smooth this time! From start to finish, Princess made the whole process feel quick and easy.
Tell us about your new company. What does ChowNow do?
ChowNow’s service and mission were the main reasons I was excited about joining the company. I get to help restaurants reach out to new customers in a way that empowers rather than hinders their business. The model is basically to provide local restaurants with online ordering, delivery, and marketing services that doesn’t rely on the typical fee-based model that takes a cut of every sale. I have always loved working in sales because I feel like I can help people with new services, and my work ChowNow is an excellent example of that.
How would you describe the company culture at ChowNow?
I would say the thing I like most about working at ChowNow is that they promote putting your thoughts and what you believe into the company. It’s one of the core values of the organization and shows up in everything we do. They want you to raise your hand and encourage you to bring great ideas and new initiatives to your managers, who then actually listen to what you have in mind and help you make it happen. I personally presented a project to my Sales Director that got me a meeting with the CEO about some of the initiatives that I want to implement.
What do you love most about Tulsa?
I grew up here in Tulsa, and I've pretty much been here. I went to college in Oklahoma City and worked there for a short time after, but I was still close by. Tulsa is really a hidden gem, and it’s clear that it is growing in a positive way and looking to improve itself. There has always been a boomtown mentality here, and it’s especially true right now. The sense of community is really strong here, and people always look out for one another. Some of my favorite things to do are going to Drillers baseball games with friends. I used to go to the soccer game in OKC and am looking forward to doing that here as well.
