Elevator Pitch
What Is an Elevator Pitch?
Essentially, this is a short summary about yourself and what you do, delivered in the time it takes to ride an elevator. You have to be able to share your story and convince the listener to keep listening. That’s the famous 30-second “elevator pitch” you’ve heard about. And it can be used for anything — finding a new job, going to a networking event, starting a sales relationship, etc.
Any time somebody asks you about your work, or asks what you do, you’re saying something… right? And if you’re looking for a new job, your elevator pitch is a big part of how you respond when they say, “Tell me about yourself.”

Build Your Pitch
Your elevator pitch should be about 60 seconds, no longer than 2 minutes. It’s a quick bite, not the entire meal. Here are some prompts to help draft your elevator pitch.
1. Who are you, and what do you do?
2. What’s your most notable experience?
3. Name some recent/current projects.
4. What are you looking for?
5. Do you have an ask?
Example
“Hi, I’m Pat. Currently, I’m a Business Development Rep with a background in Fitness. I specialize in research and development, and client engagement. I’m looking for a new opportunity in the Health Tech industry. Since I’m changing industries, I’m interested in meeting people with similar backgrounds. I’m curious to learn more about the Health Tech field in Tulsa and the remote work offerings here.”
