LinkedIn is a great way to gain visibility among employers and a stepping stone towards catalyzing your career. LinkedIn is a great social platform that can connect you to employers, viewing employees and company attributes, and placing your face in front of teams wanting to fill roles.
Researching Companies via LinkedIn
Do research about companies that are growing! High growth companies need more employees! Check out the Inc. 5,000 Fastest Growing Companies in 2021. You can filter these companies by Industry, City, State, Name.
Steps when Reviewing
1. First and foremost,check out the company’s About section, viewing goals and priorities.
2. Research the company’s latest press releases and news using the 2 Posts section.
3. View and connect with the company’s employees, seeing if you have any mutual contacts.
4. Explore other open positions, exploring other opportunities you’d be a fit for.
How to Engage via LinkedIn
- Engage with companies that inTulsa Talent is introducing you to BEFORE you start interviewing with them!
- Make a list of companies you want to start engaging with – engage with their employees, their company page on LinkedIn, their posted content on LinkedIn
- Express your interest in their company, new initiatives you have read about, or your desire to network with people who are in similar roles as you.
- Engage with people in your current network who you haven’t spoken to for many years; ask if there are any openings.
